Rail Rambles

Rail Rambles started in 1989 ,and since then have enabled thousands of people to enjoy walking Mid Wales and the Marches without the need to use cars. All walks can be reached by train from Shrewsbury and are timed to connect with return services to Shrewsbury .The area covered extends to Llanwrtyd, Aberystwyth, Barmouth, Prestatyn, Nantwich, Shifnal, Malvern & Pontypool, Some walks use the Shrewsbury Chester Line. Walks are on Saturdays throughout the year. (excepting Christmas/New Year) and some Wednesdays.. There is no charge for the walks, and the normal range of day return rail tickets can be used.. Some walks are linear. in which case a ticket to the furthest station is required

Bring food, drink and waterproof clothing and wear walking boots
